This role necessitates frequent travel to customer locations (up to 60% travel).
This position is open to REMOTE candidates. Preferred location would be within commutable distance to Poway, CA or Bohemia, NY. Also preferred would be those located in Orlando, FL; Tucson, AZ; or Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX.
This position requires a U.S Person or a person who can qualify for a Department of State or Department of Commerce License.
Position Summary:
The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for the management and coordination of operating unit business capture for the company within the area of geographic assignment. This includes the identification of new business opportunities and development of win strategies for business capture. The BDM is an individual contributor who will collaborate with senior functional leaders and technical experts. The BDM will work closely with each Business Unit Managers to meet respective unit objectives.
The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for developing and executing targeted growth strategies across assigned market segments, customers, and strategic opportunities. The BDM will build a comprehensive understanding of the market by mapping key customers, programs, applications, competitors, and emerging opportunities to identify and prioritize areas for profitable growth. The BDM will translate market and customer intelligence into actionable business strategies, including target account and program plans, capture strategies, and long-term growth initiatives. Through regular engagement with customers and industry stakeholders, the BDM is expected to identify evolving customer requirements, technology trends and unmet market needs and communicate these insights across the organization. Working closely with the Business Unit Managers, Engineering, and other functional leaders, the BDM will help shape product and technology roadmaps based on customer feedback and market direction, ensuring that future investments are aligned with the most relevant growth opportunities. This is a highly strategic individual contributor role requiring the ability to independently assess markets, prioritize opportunities, develop well-supported recommendations, and drive actions that positions the company for near-term business capture and long-term growth.
